5. Your Rights

  • • Access your personal information
  • • Correct inaccurate information
  • • Request deletion of your information

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience and analyze website traffic. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences.

We use analytics to understand which Tech Radar posts are useful to readers and to improve future coverage. We do not sell visitor data.

Tech Radar signal feedback is stored anonymously and used to improve editorial quality.

Tech Radar reader signup is separate from anonymous signal feedback. If you request email updates, we store your email address, optional first name, signup article, and dated consent records. We use Supabase to store these records and Resend to deliver confirmation and reader emails. Your email subscription becomes active only after you confirm it. Your emails include controls to unsubscribe and change your tracking choice; you can also contact info@uniqubit.ca. To limit signup abuse, we maintain request cooldowns using a keyed hash of the request IP; we do not store the raw IP in reader records or use these cooldowns to identify your visits.

Visit tracking is optional and off by default. If you separately allow it and confirm your email, we place a first-party browser cookie that lasts up to 180 days and store only its hash. It lets us count recognized Tech Radar visits and article views in a private admin reader list. A new visit starts after 30 minutes without activity. We keep aggregate counts and visit times, rather than individual article browsing history. These identified reader records are not sent to our website analytics providers or connected to anonymous signal feedback.

Turning tracking off or unsubscribing stops further collection across remembered browsers. Previously recorded counts and consent history remain until deleted; contact us to request access, correction, or deletion. Different browsers, devices, private browsing, cleared cookies, and blocked requests can limit recognition, so these counts do not represent every visit or prove an article was read. Email confirmation links expire after 24 hours and preference links after 180 days.
